Rotary Donates Ambulance

Members of the Rotary Club of Kabarole have donated brand new ambulance vehicle to management of St. John’s Hospital located in Kyenjojo district. During the handover ceremony of the ambulance the hospital premises in Kirongo ward Kyenjojo town council, a team of Rotary members led by club president Milton Tusingwire, revealed the ambulance’s worth as 250 million Ugandan shillings.

Edward Basaliza, a senior Rotarian who represented the rotary governor as chief guest applauded members for passionately contributing towards the noble cause together with their friends and members of rotary from U.S.A. He informed the crowds that rotary worldwide is passionate about promoting good health, environment conservation, education and poverty eradication.

The Rotary Club of Kabarole, president Milton Tusingwiire, said the brand new ambulance land cruiser type is 2019/2020 module, that will assist in the transportation of expectant mothers to the hospital in a campaign to fight rising mortality rates in the districts of Kyenjojo, Kamwenge, Kagadi and Kakumiro.

The LC1 Chairperson applauded Rotary Club of Kabarole and colleagues for thinking about Kyenjojo saying many mothers were dying from villages due to lack of transport.

St. John’s Hospital management led by proprietors Dr. David Mwinganiza and nurse Carolyn Ahurra promised to make good use of the ambulance in serving surrounding communities.
